There is no cure for the 80s music phase I am going through. My friends either recoil in horror or drop everything and dance. Here are some favorites.

"You're A Mouth Full of Manta Rays"
Shira is currently on tour now with The SpillJoy Ensemble. This is spoken word theater at its most dynamic. Combining four of the most acclaimed young performance poets from all corners of the country: Danny Sherrard (Seattle), Shira Erlichman (Boston), Jon Sands (New York City), and Ken Arkind (Denver), gather under the same roof for one month of kinetic energy.
This foursome blends together to display the power of a new generation to reshape our world with both their words and their elbow grease. Crooked shooters, who fly right at the very sides with which you belly laugh, then make a b-line straight for the heart muscle. They are four reasons, from four cities, and one generation, that prove poetry is larger than a microphone, it is larger than ink and page; it is the very bricks that prove how human we can be.

Elemental Ink is where to go to get a tattoo in Denver. These ladies are amazing artists. Above is Karen, the owner, and an example of her work. Heather is another artist working there, and she did my most recent tattoo. I have known Tabitha, Elemental Ink's piercer, since middle school . . . maybe I'm bias.

Dada Desk Art and Not-So Special Brownies
A productive night at The Nest (which, if we were in battle would be called "the fort"). A fiasco when it came to making special brownies. Our special brownies = peanut butter sugar chalk. I did, however, make a Dada (ish) collage on my desk. I am not yet ready to make the commitment of gluing it down. Pictures to come . . but let's say Edgar Allen Poe is dressed in an evening gown and there are trapeze artists. I was listening to Bron-Yr-Aur by Led Zeppelin.
